🐾 Pet Check-In Preparation Checklist

Use this checklist to make sure Love Furry Babies has the information needed to safely and comfortably care for your furry baby.

1. Client & Contact Information

Before your first Pet Check-In, please make sure we have:

• ☐ Your full name
• ☐ Pet Check-In service address
• ☐ Primary phone number
• ☐ Best mobile number for photo + text Pet Check-In updates
• ☐ Email address
• ☐ Emergency contact name
• ☐ Emergency contact phone number
• ☐ Relationship of emergency contact to you

Your emergency contact should ideally be someone local who can assist if we cannot reach you or if an unexpected problem occurs.

2. Pet Information

Please provide information for each pet who may receive a Pet Check-In:

• ☐ Pet’s name
• ☐ Dog, cat, or other approved pet
• ☐ Breed or description
• ☐ Age
• ☐ Sex
• ☐ Spayed or neutered status, if known
• ☐ Microchip information, if applicable
• ☐ Any identifying markings or important physical characteristics

If you have more than one pet, please provide information for each furry baby separately whenever their routines, medical needs, or behavior differ.

3. Rabies Vaccination Requirement

For the safety of pets and caregivers, a current rabies vaccination certificate or other documentation legally recognized under South Carolina law must be provided before Love Furry Babies performs the first unattended Pet Check-In.

You may provide:

• ☐ A copy of the rabies vaccination record
• ☐ A photo of the vaccination record
• ☐ A veterinary record showing current rabies vaccination
• ☐ A rabies certificate
• ☐ Other documentation legally recognized under South Carolina law

A current rabies vaccination certificate or other documentation legally recognized under South Carolina law may be provided before or during your free initial Meet & Greet.

Love Furry Babies will not perform the first unattended Pet Check-In until the required rabies documentation has been provided.

4. Feeding & Water Instructions

Please provide clear instructions for your pet’s normal routine, including:

• ☐ Type and brand of food
• ☐ Amount of food to provide
• ☐ Feeding schedule
• ☐ Location of food
• ☐ Location of food and water bowls
• ☐ Fresh-water instructions
• ☐ Special feeding instructions
• ☐ Food allergies or dietary restrictions

If pets must be separated while eating, please explain exactly how their feeding routine should be handled.

5. Treat Information

If you would like treats given during a Pet Check-In, please provide:

• ☐ Permission to give treats
• ☐ Approved treats or brands
• ☐ Maximum number of treats per visit, if applicable
• ☐ Food allergies or restrictions
• ☐ Location of treats

Whenever possible, we recommend that you provide your pet’s familiar treats.

For dogs, please provide:

7. Health & Medical Information

Please tell Love Furry Babies about any medical or physical condition that could affect your pet during a Pet Check-In, including:

• ☐ Seizures
• ☐ Recent illness or surgery
• ☐ Medical conditions
• ☐ Hearing or vision problems
• ☐ Symptoms or behaviors that are normal for your pet but may appear concerning

Please notify Love Furry Babies if your pet’s health changes after your initial setup.

8. Medication Information

If medication may need to be given during a Pet Check-In, please provide:

Medication must be discussed and accepted by Love Furry Babies before it is included with a Pet Check-In.

Please make sure your veterinary information remains current so we know whom to contact if a medical concern occurs.

10. Behavior & Safety Information

Even friendly pets may act differently when their owner is away. Please disclose any known behavioral concerns, including:

• ☐ Growling
• ☐ Snapping
• ☐ Biting or previous bite incidents
• ☐ Lunging
• ☐ Door guarding
• ☐ Food or toy guarding
• ☐ Fear of strangers
• ☐ Fear of certain noises or movements
• ☐ Hiding behavior
• ☐ Escape or bolting tendencies
• ☐ Reactivity toward other dogs or animals
• ☐ Leash or harness difficulties

Please also tell us what commands, words, routines, or techniques work best with your pet.

Love Furry Babies may decline or discontinue a visit if a pet displays behavior that makes safe entry, care, or exit impossible.

11. Home Access

During your free Meet & Greet, we will discuss the type of home-access method you plan to use.

Possible access methods may include:

• ☐ Combination lockbox
• ☐ Temporary smart-lock code
• ☐ Concealed backup key location
• ☐ Another agreed and safe access method

You do not need to give Love Furry Babies your current lockbox code, smart-lock code, alarm code, or hidden-key location during your initial setup.

We will document the type of access method you plan to use. Current access instructions can be provided when a Pet Check-In is requested and confirmed.

Before each confirmed visit, please make sure your selected access method is working and available.

12. Home & Property Safety

Please tell us about anything that could affect safe entry or care, including:

• ☐ Alarm system
• ☐ Indoor or outdoor cameras
• ☐ Loose or damaged gates
• ☐ Fencing concerns
• ☐ Pools or water hazards
• ☐ Damaged steps or walkways
• ☐ Construction or repair work
• ☐ Other animals on the property
• ☐ Rooms or areas that are off-limits
• ☐ Other household or property hazards

13. Other People Entering the Home

Please let Love Furry Babies know if anyone else may enter or be inside the home while a Pet Check-In is being performed.

15. Your Free Initial Meet & Greet

Before Love Furry Babies performs your first unattended Pet Check-In, a free in-home Meet & Greet with you and your pet is required.

During the Meet & Greet, we will:

• ☐ Allow your pet to become familiar with us
• ☐ Review feeding and watering instructions
• ☐ Review potty or litter box routines
• ☐ Review behavioral information and safety concerns
• ☐ Review medical and medication information
• ☐ Review veterinarian and emergency veterinary information
• ☐ Review current rabies vaccination certificate or other documentation legally recognized under South Carolina law
• ☐ Review emergency contact information
• ☐ Discuss your planned home-access method
• ☐ Locate food, water, treats, litter, cleaning supplies, medication, and other pet-care items
• ☐ Discuss cameras and alarm systems
• ☐ Review gates, fencing, escape risks, and other property concerns
• ☐ Discuss anyone else who may enter the home
• ☐ Make sure the arrangement feels safe and comfortable for everyone

Your Meet & Greet is also our opportunity to get to know one another. You should know and feel comfortable with the person who will be entering your home and caring for your furry baby. Love Furry Babies Pet Check-Ins are currently personally provided by Sally Taylor, so your pet can become familiar with the same caregiver who will return for future visits.

The Meet & Greet must be completed and your household accepted for service before the first unattended Pet Check-In can be performed.

16. Before Each Pet Check-In

Once you are an established Love Furry Babies Pet Check-In client, please make sure the following information is current before requesting or confirming a visit:

• ☐ Pet-care instructions are current
• ☐ Feeding and medication instructions have not changed
• ☐ Any new health concerns have been disclosed
• ☐ Any new behavioral concerns have been disclosed
• ☐ Emergency contact information is current
• ☐ Veterinarian information is current
• ☐ Rabies documentation remains current when applicable
• ☐ Home-access method is working
• ☐ Current access information has been provided for the confirmed visit
• ☐ Alarm instructions are current, if applicable
• ☐ Pet-care supplies are available
• ☐ Love Furry Babies has been told about anyone else expected at the home

17. Emergency & Same-Day Pet Check-Ins

Emergency and Same-Day Pet Check-Ins are available only to established Love Furry Babies clients who have already completed the required free Meet & Greet and been accepted for Pet Check-In services.

If Love Furry Babies has never met you or your pet, an immediate unattended Pet Check-In cannot be accepted.

Emergency and Same-Day requests are always subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

18. Final Check Before Your First Unattended Visit
